Meet Alastair
I’m standing to be your new MP to change things for the better. I promise to use my skills and experience to stand up for you.
I was raised in Melton, live here and work here. As an active member of the local community, I’ve led projects to protect the local area from environmental damage and worked to safeguard essential local services.
My top priorities are strengthening our local economy, improving public services, and protecting nature.
Melton and Syston needs an effective and principled MP. People are ready for change.
I’m here to listen to you and represent you as a strong champion for Melton and Syston in Westminster!
A Green Vote – People who listen and take action on local issues
Last year, people in this area overwhelmingly voted green in the local elections. People tell us that they are delighted to have Green councillors, who are hands on and working hard on the issues that matter to people.
In the past twelve months, the Green group have;
- Set up schemes to provide free, warm winter coats
- Successfully secured funding for our community and voluntary groups
- Secured funding for targeted for helping with the cost of living
- Campaigned for safe crossings and action on dangerous road junctions
- Protected a lake by Watermead Country Park from being filled in for warehousing
- Supported residents during floods and pushed for answers and a better response from agencies responsible for flood protections

Voice for Melton and Syston
The number one complaint I hear from residents: “the politicians don’t listen to us in Leicestershire”.
For too long there has been no voice for local people at Westminster. Alastair will be a strong voice for Melton and Syston.
Action to Protect Nature
Whether it’s river pollution, protection of our wildlife or tackling climate change, it’s clear we must change our national priorities.
As Green MP for Melton and Syston, Alastair will demand action to protect nature.
It’s Alastair for real change
The polls are clear. The Conservatives are going to lose the General Election by a landslide. The question is what will the next government do?
Major change is needed. Labour’s plan for a few small tweaks won’t get the job done.
